CHASING NOBEL PRIZE: A Speculative Political Novel by Hariharan Iyer

In the pretext of wars, it is very hard to survive by its outcomes. Usually it is assumed to be only affecting the soldiers or the country's persons, but I find it is a lot more than this through this book. "Chasing Nobel Prise" is a thought-provoking piece of fiction. It tries to depict the impact of a powerful political leader chasing the Nobel Prise and forcing others to live with its consequences.

The narrative begins with the backdrop of Donald Trump, who enters his second term of service and tries to enforce some of his thoughts on others. As a consequence, the innocent people end up paying the highest price. This book reminds us that behind every political decision there lie dreams of political leaders to conquer where they don't think a fraction of a second about people whose lives will be at stake.

Through multiple interconnected stories, the author shows the lives of ordinary people affected by political conflicts and power struggles. He provides a voice to people whose lives are irrevocably altered by violence and instability rather than concentrating solely on world leaders and diplomacy.

I appreciated the character Oksana. Her experience as a mother attempting to protect her daughter Sofia while anxiously awaiting news is incredibly poignant. This facet of the aftermath reminded me that every geopolitical crisis has a very human side.

Even the headlines about Arjun, Ahmed and Fatema shook me. Their experiences turn political headlines into stirring, poignant stories. Each face disclosed made me think about why there are wars and why a person can't live and let others live.

The author has meticulously worked out the varied scenarios and given words to so many people. His unique and enthralling manner of laying the facts with ease and stating hard-core issues of the general public.

Overall, it is an overview of the lives of many people who suffer just because of wars between countries.
