The Crystal Eye by Swarnendu Bhushan
"The Crystal Eye" is a thrilling book that takes the reader diving into many eras, making the prevalence of the crystal eye very specific. It begins with a boy called Shankar, little disabled but having a specific mark on his arm. He is bullied by boys of his age, and he gets scary nightmares, but he is a firm believer in Lord Shiva. One day he gets this crystal eye, and he hides it somewhere that no person could ever find him.
Then begins a trail of different events where I get to know about many rulers, Aryabhatta and many more. Then it comes to the modern era. Here the crystal eye is a mission to be saved by Nirmala and her team. They collectively go on a dangerous journey to solve the ancient puzzles and keep the artefact out of the wrong hands.
As they travel to different temples and hidden sites, they are constantly chased by armed mercenaries. Nirmala often has to fight off these attackers, showing she is much stronger than she looks. The mystery strikes them when they use sunlight and a sacred Om symbol to unlock a hidden "pot". Inside, they find a copper plate, which is the final key to the entire mystery.
I was intrigued to find out how their team gelled up to save the crystal eye. Will they be successful or not? Do grab your copy to know more about it.
The author has meticulously penned the history involving varied characters and blending it with present times. His vision of predicting the power of Lord Shiva and his esteem grace.
Overall, it is a thrilling and gripping read. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend the same to all.
