VELAN IPS: The Shadow Network by Darsan Halan
"Velan IPS" is a mind boggling yet heart touching thrilling book. The characters are engrossing enough to keep me engrossed throughout the book.
It started with a case in Tiruppur where Velan IPS finds some young boys troubling girls while they were drug infused and alcholic. Velan IPS took us into a dangerous web of crime, corruption and conspiracy, where every answer opened another question.
On the election rally of Amudhan, Velan first time gets to see Anupama and is stunned by her beauty and wit to cover the rally with complete dedication. With a tough cop, a fearless journalist, Anupama and an undercover ally, the investigation quickly grew beyond a local case into something far more sinister.
And then comes the Disintegration Protocol, a chilling plan that threatened not just individuals, but the future of an entire generation. What hooked me most was the way the story kept expanding. The deeper Velan dug, the darker the truth got.
The twists and all were not the expected one. In the next part will I get to know the answer for Velan's Aunt missing case? I was eagerly waiting for it. And Amudhan transformation in the end is mind blowing sequel. I guess it is going to be more brutual.
The message delivered were all exactly what the society needs. The atmosphere of Rameshwaram was just getting back my memories back when I visited there. It was so fast paced and the story being on timeline of 11 days were all so interesting to read.
Each character played well. Kaal, Bala, Faisal all were so well played. The most loved one by me is Michelle, her boldness is really every girl needs to take up. To fight for ourself. And Anupama, she is really an great FMC and Velan is really a great Cop.
The author has well depicted the life of a cop and a journalist who work day and night to bring stories out and let the common public feel safe and secure. He has presented the emotions of a cop when he first feel the beat of love.
Overall, it is an intriguing read.
