Her Truth His War: Political Romantic Thriller by Kalpana B

"Her Truth His War" is a mind-boggling political thriller. Though slow-paced, it dives deep with each intimate feeling of a politician and a police officer.

The story begins with Shiv, a police officer known for his skills. He has a son, and his wife left him due to indifference between them. He is respected and considered a true gem in his department. He is involved in a serious murder case concerning the home minister's husband, which also resulted in Ishika being injured. She was pretending to be the victim, but the truth was twisting as per moving ahead with the chapters.

I was intrigued to know how Shiv gets to trust her or how she makes him trust what she wants. There was a blurred line of difference, but the suspense was completely shrilling. I was taken aback by the revelations.

A few lines from the book shocked me and made me ponder how politics shifts you or turns you into a different person:

🌸 "He had not prepared for strength. It unsettled him more than hysteria would have. Strength meant clarity. Clarity meant intent. And intent meant this story was not going to be simple. He adjusted his stance almost unconsciously, as if recalibrating his distance from her."

🌸 "Everyone in the room, including him, had been underestimating her. Assuming fragility. Mistaking silence for compliance. Confusing survival with submission. They were wrong. This woman was watching. Calculating. She was learning how power really worked, faster than anyone realised."

The author has well penned the curiosity factor into his narrative. The way he reveals each character's intentions and how he is playing the game of politics is worth reading.

Overall, it is a slow-paced and thrilling read.
