The United Nations Conspiracy: Book 01 by Sharath "Da Saint" Shivani

"The United Nations Conspiracy" is a riveting, intense geopolitical thriller set in New York City over the course of a single day. Sharath "Da Saint" Shivani weaves real-world diplomacy, intelligence tradecraft, and symbolic conspiracies into a story that appears frighteningly plausible.

This book begins from a dark night in Chinatown, where loneliness and danger walk side by side with Zhànxìn on a mission that already feels doomed. The author swiftly shifts the narrative sharply into the polished corridors of the United Nations. Here he depicts the contrast between the raw world of espionage and the diplomatic sheen of global politics.

The story revolves around Bhaarath Ibhan, a young Indian Foreign Service officer who expects paperwork and protocol but instead finds himself racing against time after a biochemist from Xinjiang who disappears in Manhattan. Cryptic notes, coded symbols, and whispers of a biological threat are more devastating than recent global pandemics.

What impressed me the most was the mood. The pacing is fast and cinematic, but never empty. Corridors feel tight, lifts seem to take too long, and every interaction bears a hint of mistrust. Bhaarath's uneasy relationship with Zhou Zhìyuǎn, a clever Chinese translator with her own secrets, adds emotional intensity and geopolitical complexity. Trust appears fragile, shaped by the delicate balance of India, China, and the United States.

Overall, it is a commendable thriller and fast-paced story.
