The Web by Nimeran Sahukar

The Web by Nimeran Sahukar | Book Review

"The Web" is an intense psychological story collection that resists the reader putting their book down. I felt like reading some short stories. I picked up this book, and it led me on a thought-provoking ride of dilemmas and reality.

Though it has four short stories, each one is a masterpiece in itself. I was so overwhelmed in the stories that I didn't realise how the story took its unexpected turns. The characters play such a disturbing role that it becomes too difficult to guess who is getting caught in the web and who is playing the mastermind.

As I delved deeper into the narratives, I found myself questioning my own moral compass, grappling with the choices each character made. The author has a remarkable ability to weave intricate plots that not only entertain but also challenge readers to reflect on their own values and decisions.

In the story "The Web", firstly, I admired the character of Dr Arvind, who gets attracted by a patient in a wheelchair and marries her. He presents himself as the best person and the correct choice. But what follows their marriage is a web of lies and hidden intentions.

It was intriguing to read his psychology and his thought processes. It was hard for me to judge the true mastermind until the end of the story. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, as each revelation about Dr Arvind's motivations unfolded. The complexity of his character and the moral dilemmas he faced prompted me to reflect on the nature of love and trust in relationships.

The author has well portrayed the illusion in characters that makes the reader hallucinate the reality. She makes vivid descriptions of ongoing scenarios in multifaceted ways. Her narrative is a mirror image of reality nowadays.

Overall, this book is hard to put down, and each story makes you spellbound.
